A delegation from Ocean University of China (OUC) has visited the University and the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) to explore collaborations for research and student exchange.
Their visit included time on the research vessels from NOC and meeting representatives from the School of Engineering.
Professor Ken Badcock, Head of the School said: “The developing relationship with OUC is very attractive in contributing the establishment of a strong research centre in Engineering Sustainability in the marine energy and maritime areas.”
The new partnership between the three institutions is being developed for long term collaboration in marine science and technology.
Assisting in the support of this programme is the appointment to a prestigious Chinese Ministry of Education five-year Overseas Fellowship at OUC for Professor Richard Burrows from the School.
