Pain Relief Foundation announce grants to fund research

The Pain Relief Foundation, based at University Hospital Aintree, has announced a Prize PhD Studentship prize and grants to fund research on the mechanisms or relief of human chronic pain.

The PhD Studentship is to enable a young graduate to embark on a research career in human chronic pain.

Applications are invited from universities, academic institutes and other potential project supervisors for this prestigious studentship.

The award will be tenable for three years and will carry a tax-free stipend and tuition fees totalling £16,250 in the first year with increases in years two and three.

In addition, there will be a small budget available to cover consumables. The total grant is unlikely to exceed £58,000 over three years.
