Professor appointed to board of NHS trust

A Professor of Primary Medical Care at the University has been appointed to the board of the Mersey Care NHS Trust.

Professor Chris Dowrick, from the Institute is Psychology, Health and Society, will take up the role as Non-Executive Director Designate, helping to oversee the strategic direction and statutory obligations of Mersey Care. The trust provides specialist mental health, learning disability, and substance misuse services for a catchment area of more than one million people in Liverpool, Sefton and Kirkby, and wider for secure mental health services.
