Professor Sir David King reveals the plaque to officially open Vine Court

University of Liverpool Chancellor Professor Sir David King officially opened Vine Court, the  new £45M student village “at the forefront of sustainable residential development in the UK higher education sector”.

The new residence features shops, a 250 seat restaurant and 749 en-suite rooms

Vice-Chancellor Professor Sir Howard Newby welcomed the inclusion of the new state-of-the-art facility to the University campus

Vine Court is built around an attractive courtyard area that provides recreational and social space

Sir David King; Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience, Professor Kelvin Everest; Sir Howard Newby and Catherine Anderson, Director of Residential and Leisure Service celebrate the official opening

Vine Court benefits from a low energy heating and cooling system, rainwater harvesting, low energy lighting and solar thermal water heating, as well as green roofs for wildlife habitats.
