Five gardens in the Sefton Park area of Liverpool are being opened up to the public as part of the National Gardens Scheme, which raises money for nursing, caring and gardening charities in the UK.
The gardens can be visited on Sunday 30 June between noon-5pm and include those at the Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge, Parkmount, Sefton Park Allotments, Sefton Villa and York House Gardens.
String quartet
The Vice-Chancellor’s Lodge features a collection of old shrub roses, grand formal terrace, grape vine and shrub borders. A string quartet will be playing and ice cream will be served. Staff from Ness Gardens will be on hand to answer any gardening questions.
Combined tickets cost £5 (children go free) and there will also be refreshments. For more information visit the National Gardens Scheme website.
