In Brief: Liverpool celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week

In recognition of Global Entrepreneurship Week, businesswomen will be encouraged to get more involved in the democratic process at a special event hosted by the University of Liverpool and The Women’s Organisation.

The event, which also marks National Parliament Week, will give local businesswomen the opportunity to speak to a panel of experts about the business challenges they face.

Deputy Mayor, Councillor Roz Gladden will be joined by Professor of Governance at the University, Laura McAllister, and Ambassador for the University, Lady Sheila Newby in a discussion about how women can influence policy and improve their business processes.

Special guest speaker and University graduate, Jenny Radcliffe, will also talk about her experiences setting up her own business focusing on training programmes in non-verbal communications.

The event, called ‘Women, Business & Democracy’, takes place on Wednesday, 20 November, at the Women’s Organisation, St James Street, at 6pm.  For information about tickets please visit the website at: www.thewomensorganisation.org.uk or by telephoning cll 0151 706 8111
