Our response rate in the National Student Survey (NSS) has reached 50%, putting Liverpool ahead of the average response rate for institutions who launched the survey at the same time.
The survey has been open since 3 February, giving final year undergraduate students the opportunity to share their views about their experience at University.
Due to close on 30 April, the aim is to match last year’s overall response rate of 75%.
Students who complete the survey online will receive £3 in free print credits to say thank you for taking part, and the departments with the highest and most improved response rates at the end of the survey period will each win a £500 Graduation package from Hospitality Liverpool.
Health Sciences is the department currently in the lead of the highest response rate competition with 72.2%. The department currently leading the most improved category is Psychology with a 19% increase on their 2013 rate at the same point in the survey.
The NSS is commissioned by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) and administered by independent research agency Ipsos MORI.
Students who are eligible to take part in the survey are asked to give their opinion on a number of areas including teaching quality, assessment and feedback on their work, academic support and learning resources.
Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Student Experience Professor Kelvin Everest, said: “The results of the NSS are extremely important to the University and achieving a high response rate is essential to obtaining reliable and meaningful results. The Easter break is fast approaching making the next few weeks of promotion critical. Please help us to promote the survey wherever
possible to final year undergraduates. ”
