Travel rating website, TripAdvisor has named Liverpool as the fourth best city in the UK to visit, based on reviews by millions of its members.
The listing was published as part of the company’s annual Travellers’ Choice Destinations awards which rank cities around the world based on millions of customer reviews of attractions, restaurants and hotels.
Liverpool came in behind London, Edinburgh and Torquay in the UK top 10, but ahead of Belfast, York, Bristol, Llandudno, Leeds and Birmingham. Cities such as Manchester and Glasgow dropped out of the top 10 for the first time.
The city is internationally known for experiences associated with football and the Beatles, but also on the top ten attractions on TripAdvisor are the Walker Art Gallery, the Central Library and the Merseyside Maritime Museum.
