Catherine Anderson, Director of Residential, Sport and Commercial Services at the University of Liverpool, has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the CUBO Awards 2014.

CUBO is the professional association for senior managers in higher education whose responsibilities include the strategic development, management and administration of an institution’s commercial business. This includes the in-house or outsourced provision of a residential portfolio, catering and retail operations and conference facilities, which also encapsulates business and leisure tourism.

Professionals

CUBO members are drawn from senior levels at the majority of UK Higher Education institutions. They are professionals in senior positions reporting mainly to a University senior officer such as the Principal or Vice-Chancellor, Secretary or Registrar.

The award reflects Catherine’s achievements over 15 years in the Higher Education sector, in roles at the University of Liverpool and Manchester Metropolitan University, her contribution to two HEFCE Value for Money Studies, a founding member and former Chair of the British Association for Cleaning in Higher Education and, her service to the association during that time, including eight years as secretary and 2 periods as acting chair.

The award was presented by Ken Livingstone at a champagne reception in London on Thursday 3 July.
