International Award for Planning Education

The Department of Geography and Planning has won a prestigious international award for teaching excellence.

The Department was recognised for an international planning studies module, designed to internationalise the curriculum and deliver student and research led teaching.

Lecturer, Dr Olivier Sykes, received the AESOP Excellence in Teaching Award 2014 on behalf of the Department at the Congress of the Association of European Schools of Planning (AESOP) in Utrecht, Netherlands. Following the presentation Dr Sykes said: “The award was for our international representation and recognises the wider internationalisation agenda that the University is pursuing, especially with Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University, our partner institution in China.”
