The University’s telephone lines have opened for Clearing and Confirmation 2014, with a forecast improvement on last year’s intake total.

Clearing for most non-clinical subjects opened at 7.00am to deal with queries from existing offer holders and to recruit additional students.

The University expects to receive around 7,000 calls in the coming week.

The team of staff working in the call centre include 41 admissions tutors, 25 student recruitment staff, 65 student ambassadors and 30 members of the accommodation team.

Director of Marketing, Claire Brown, said: “Global competition for students continues to intensify and it is more important than ever that we continuously review our offer to ensure we remain relevant and competitive.

Students can also make use of the Accommodation live chat function via www.liv.ac.uk/accommodation/contact and staff will be responding to enquiries via the University’s social media channels. The Call Centre will be operational at the following times:

  • Thursday 14 August: 7.00am – 6.00pm
  • Friday 15 August: 9.00am – 5.00pm
  • Saturday 16 August: 10.00am – 2.00pm
  • Sunday 17 August: Closed
  • Monday 18 – Friday 22 August: 9.00am – 5.00pm
