AUDE Emerging Talent winner 2016 - Kelly Grimes
Administration Data Manager, Kelly Grimes from Estates Management, has won a national award for her exceptional contribution.
Kelly won the Association of University Directors of Estates (AUDE) Emerging Talent Award 2016 at the annual AUDE conference held at the University of Exeter. The award celebrates a member of staff, working in University Estates or Facilities, who make an exceptional contribution and demonstrate great potential for the future.
The 2016 AUDE Higher Education Estates and Facilities awards took place at the Gala dinner, on the final night of the AUDE conference, at Exeter Cathedral. Kelly was presented with her award by George Clarke from television programmes, ‘Amazing Spaces’ and ‘The Restoration Man’.
Positive culture
Kelly is part of the administration team in the Estates Department working on data and system improvement, and has recently started focusing on managing service and business improvement.
Working on a collaborative basis with managers and service specialists from across the University, Kelly has influenced changes in organisational process to further enhance the University’s value for money framework. Kelly was judged to understand the benefit of using data to support business decisions in an estates and higher education context. The benefits have been felt both at departmental and institutional level.
On winning the award, Kelly said: “I am delighted to have won this award and I am extremely proud that my work is being recognised by AUDE and the University.”
National excellence
Syd Cottle, Director of Estates Management, said: “It’s always a pleasure when a team member is recognised for excellence at a national level. This award is well deserved by Kelly, and it was hard won given the strength of submissions from across the UK.”
