Sensor City, the joint venture project between the University of Liverpool and Liverpool John Moores University, is looking to recruit three new technical experts to manage the running of its mechanical, electronics and software laboratory sections.
Sensor City brings together knowledge and experience in sensor technology and houses and supports high-tech businesses working on sensor systems and applications. Currently based in the Science Park, it will move into its £15million purpose-built innovation located in the Copperas Hill redevelopment area and part of the University Enterprise Zone, this summer.
The new technical expert roles will involve a variety of functions and activities including making products on behalf of customers, working with customers to produce solutions to key problems and training tenants to allow them to use laboratory equipment.
Dr Joanne Phoenix, Business Development Manager for Sensor City, said: “This is an exciting time for Sensor City and these new technical roles will help take us forward as we move into our new facility and as our client base grows.
“We are looking for creative, friendly, technically competent people who want to join a small team and participate in a field which is set to revolutionize the next phase of the industrial revolution.”

Sensor City is supported by the Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and the European Regional Development Fund.
It received a £5 million University Enterprise Zone status capital investment award in 2014 and in 2016, it was awarded £5 million in capital investment as match funding to support the development of the hi-tech sensor hub by the England European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), part of the European Structural and Investment Funds Growth Programme 2014-2020.
