University among world’s top institutions in latest QS rankings

The University features among the world’s top institutions in 26 of the subjects listed in this year’s QS World University Rankings by Subject. Consistently in the top 200 universities in worldwide rankings, figures show the university remains a world class institution for its Research-connected curricula and the employability prospects of its students.

Liverpool has a top 10 rank in Veterinary Science and a top 100 rank in Architecture and Pharmacy/Pharmacology. Five subject areas at the University showed progress, moving up in the ranks in comparison to last year’s ratings.

Highly ranking subject areas at the University include Archaeology; Chemistry; English Language and Literature; Geography; Engineering (Civil & Mechanical); Biology; Earth Sciences; Medicine and Physics, which are all ranked 101-150.

The QS World University Rankings by Subject provide a comprehensive guide to the world’s top universities in a range of popular subject areas which are grouped under five broad faculty areas: Arts and Humanities; Engineering and Technology; Life Sciences and Medicine; Natural Sciences; and Social Sciences & Management.

The ranking measures the opinions of academics and employers around the world, using the surveys which are also used to determine the overall World University Rankings. The Academic Survey measures which universities are regarded as the top for scholarship and research by informed colleagues around the world. The Employer Survey asks where recruiters find the best graduates and measures which students have the best employability prospects.
