Celebrating our Partnership with Tate: Students invited to Fernand Léger opening party

We’re proud to be supporting Tate Liverpool’s Fernand Léger: New Times, New Pleasures exhibition, which is opening next week.

All staff and students are invited to be among the first to see the new exhibition for free at the Winter Season opening party, which is taking place on Thursday, 22 November. There will be a DJ, street food and guests will also be offered a welcome drink on arrival.  You can find out more about the Exhibition Opening Party via the Facebook Events page.

The Léger exhibition opens to the public the following day on Friday, 23 November, and runs until 17 March 2019. Staff and students can attend the exhibition any time free of charge.  All you need to do is present your Student Card.

To celebrate the Fernand Léger exhibition, we are organising a number of unique Tate Exchange residencies, events, courses and talks over the coming months. This is an exciting opportunity for staff and students to educate, collaborate and engage public audiences with our cutting edge, interdisciplinary research.

The complementary activity is being produced by a wide range of subject areas such as English, Music Technology, Infectious Diseases, Public Health and Translational Medicine. The event programme will be released over the coming weeks. If you are interested in contributing to this, please contact Hannah Schumann to discuss your ideas.

The Tate Partnership

The Tate Partnership, which started in 2016, formalises a history of collaboration that stretches back over the past 30 years in which our academics and students have pursued common goals alongside Tate’s researchers and curators.

Led by Professor Fiona Beveridge, Executive Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and supported by the Research, Partnership and Innovation Directorate, the Partnership has inspired researchers to come forward with ideas for joint projects and provided opportunities for the Tate to tap into university expertise.

Student benefits

Other benefits of the University’s partnership with Tate include free entry to all exhibitions at Tate Liverpool, Tate Britain and Tate Modern, a 10% discount in the Tate Liverpool Shop and, brand new for this year, a 20% discount in the Tate Liverpool Café.

All you need to do to claim these benefits is present your Student Card when visiting Tate Liverpool. For entry into Tate Britain and Tate Modern, a Corporate Supporter Pass must also be presented. You can find out more information via our Tate Partnership webpage.
