Shoebox appeal: Help the homeless this Christmas

This Christmas you can help vulnerable men, women, children and animals across Liverpool and Merseyside by donating items to the Shoebox Full of Love appeal.

To donate, fill a wrapped shoebox or gift bag with useful items and bring it to one of the donation points in the city. You’ll find a list of the types of items you can include inside your shoeboxes or gift bags on the Shoebox Full of Love website.  You can also personalise your gift with a card or note to make the donation extra special. According to the organisation, the cards inside the gift boxes often mean more to the person receiving the boxes than the gifts do.

Before donating, make sure you label your boxes and bags, stating the gender and age range of your intended box.

The deadline for dropping off your gift boxes and baxes is Monday, 3 December.

Your donations will be given to people via a number of local charities. Last year, lots of charities received the donations, including YMCA, the Whitechapel Centre, Amadudu Women’s and Children’s Refuge. The following charities received a share of donations last year:
