Cheering football fans

Liverpool FC are heading to Madrid this weekend to take on rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the final of the Champions League.

If you’re lucky enough to be heading to Spain to watch the match, good for you! If you’re staying in Liverpool and haven’t sorted out your viewing plan yet, we’ve rounded up the best places in Liverpool (with tickets still available!) to enjoy the game and soak up the atmosphere.

  1. Liverpool Guild of Students

Our very own Liverpool Guild of Students is opening up Mountford Hall and the Courtyard to show the big match. The event is free but you will need a valid student ID to gain entry. Doors open at 5pm. The bar will be open and match snack favourites will be available from the courtyard. More information is available here.

  1. Brookhouse

Popular student pub the Brookhouse on Smithdown Road will be showing the match on screens throughout the venue. Entry is free and no tickets are required but make sure you arrive early…last year it was full well in advance of kick off! Directions and information available here.

  1. Fletchers Sports Bar

Based at Allerton Manor Golf Club, Fletcher’s will be hosting an outdoor fan zone with a giant external screen, BBQ and outdoor bar and music on 1 June (fingers crossed for good weather…)! It’s a pricier option and seated tickets have already sold out but there are some standing tickets still available for £20 each. More information is available on the website.

  1. Lady of Mann, Dale Street

Located on Dale Street in the historic Thomas Rigby buildings, Lady of Mann is guaranteed to provide a good atmosphere. Entry is free and no tickets are required but it will be first come first served so make sure you arrive early! More information and directions available here.

  1. Hope and Anchor

This popular venue near campus on Maryland Street will be screening the final with doors open from midday. Seating is now sold out but wristbands will be available on the door between 12pm and 4pm on the day on a first come first served basis. More information and directions available here.
