Jenny Tucker has been appointed Chief Operating Officer at the University of Liverpool after serving in the role on an interim basis since June 2018.
Jenny joined the Senior Management Team last year when she was appointed interim Chief Operating Officer, working closely with the Vice-Chancellor to provide strategic leadership to Professional Services.
Having previously worked at Keele University in a number of senior leadership roles, Jenny joined the University of Liverpool in 2014, taking on the position of Director of Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services. In this post she was responsible for a diverse portfolio including estates, a range of residential and commercial services, leisure facilities and the University’s botanic gardens.
While serving as interim Chief Operating Officer, Jenny has been a key figure in leading the University’s £1billion Masterplan Estate Strategy.
Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Janet Beer said: “I’m delighted to welcome Jenny to the role of Chief Operating Officer. While serving in the role on an interim basis over the past year, Jenny has worked productively to connect with colleagues from all areas of the University, with our partners in the city region and with members of the University Council.
I am sure that everyone is looking forward to working with Jenny and will join me in congratulating her on her appointment.”
Chief Operating Officer, Jenny Tucker said:“I’m thrilled to have been appointed Chief Operating Officer and I’m looking forward to continuing to work in partnership with colleagues across the institution as we transform our University and work together to achieve our strategic aims.
It’s an exciting moment to be leading the direction of Professional Services as we advance our institution and work closely with our partners in the city region. At the forefront of our vision is providing opportunities for staff and students through our people, place and culture of leadership.”
Jenny’s appointment follows an external recruitment process and takes effect immediately.
