You may be aware that staff who are members of the University and College Union (UCU) have been asked to take part in industrial action as part of a dispute over pay and changes to the USS pension scheme.
This is a national action and, whilst every effort has been made to resolve the dispute, we have been notified by UCU that eight days of action will take place on 25, 26, 27, 28, 29 November 2019 and 2, 3, 4 December 2019.
Unite members within Campus Support will also take strike action in relation to a local dispute in connection with their terms of employment for 72 hours starting at 7am on 13 November, and for 48 hours, starting 7am on 2 December.
Please be assured that we will work hard to ensure that the impact on you is kept to a minimum. Our planning group includes representation from the Guild of Students and we will be in touch shortly with details of the measures we will be putting in place to mitigate the impact of any action on our students.
