Get involved with the Improving Student Mental Health through Partnerships project

In June 2019 the University was awarded £770k funding by the Office for Students for two out of ten national projects on mental health.

From this, the project Improving Student Mental Health through Partnerships was launched in October, and since then the University has been working together with partners; Mersey Care, the Innovation Agency, Brownlow Health, Liverpool John Moores University and the student unions, to develop improved mental health services for students across the region, and better access to these services.

Get involved

Following feedback, the project team are keen to hear from students about how you think improvements could be made to University student mental health services and there are several opportunities coming up to get involved with the project:

1. Take part in focus groups: Focus groups will run throughout March to gather student experiences and views about accessing and using mental health support services at the University.

If you have used any mental health services or know someone who has and would like to discuss your thoughts the team want to hear from you. Please contact corcoran@liverpool.ac.uk to book your slot from a choice of Wednesdays in March.

2. Contact the project team: You can contact the team directly if you have something to share or feedback on from your own experiences with University and/or NHS mental health services. Any feedback you provide will enable the project group to understand what is working well, and what needs to be improved.  Get in touch by emailing the team directly on StuMHfeedback@liverpool.ac.uk . All feedback will be used anonymously, and only used to inform aspects of the project.

3. Join the project team: We have an exciting opportunity to join the project team on a Year in Industry student placement starting in August 2020. This placement will have a student engagement and communications focus, and will work to support the team by working alongside students to design and deliver the remainder of the project.  For more information please see the job description on careerhub.liv.ac.uk (Job title: Student Engagement Assistant).
