Develop the 7 skills for mental fitness with Fika

To help you to stay motivated, productive, focused, and connected during these challenging times, the University has partnered with Fika to provide free access to their mental fitness app.

On the Fika app you access courses and exercises to help develop the following seven key mental fitness skills:

  • Confidence
  • Positivity
  • Connection with others
  • Sense of meaning
  • Motivation and self-management
  • Ability to focus
  • Managing stress and harnessing it positively

The courses have been specifically designed to combat the challenges of remote study/work and the mental health impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The app enables you to learn from expert psychologists, students, academics and professional athletes in five-minute video, audio and text programmes. You can also take part in a daily mental fitness workout to share your experiences, learn from other members of the community, and cheer each other on.

Access to Fika’s COVID-19 package is FREE for all University of Liverpool students and staff.

How to download and log into the app

  1. Download Fika: Student Skills app from the Appstore / Google Play store or click this link
  2. Open the app and tap ‘Get started for Free’
  3. Confirm you are over 16 and agree to the Terms of Use & Privacy Policy
  4. Search for University of Liverpool in the institution list and select
  5. Enter your email address and a desired password
  6. Check your inbox for a verification email and click link within the email
  7. Complete registration and enjoy Fika.
