Update to services and facilities on campus

In line with the latest national lockdown restrictions, we have had to make some changes to our on-campus services and facilities. Please remember, as guidelines change we will continue to assess our services and may make further updates. Full details will be available on each service webpage.

You should also continue to check our COVID Safety web hub for the latest advice and calendar of virtual events and activities if you’re looking for something fun and covid-safe to do.

Libraries

Bookable study spaces in both the Harold Cohen and Sydney Jones libraries will open from 10am to midnight daily, together with bookable study space in the Victoria Gallery and Museum, from 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday, and the School of Law and Social Justice, from 8.45am-5.15pm Monday to Friday. Although it will not be possible to browse material and the Grove Wing of the Sydney Jones, and the stacks in the Harold Cohen will be closed to users.

Borrowing books via Click and Collect will continue in both libraries and books can be returned to the drop off boxes in either Library.

All of our online resources such as databases, e-journals and e-texts will continue to be available 24 hours a day.

Face-to-face help desks in the libraries are closed for the moment, but you can access support via our online enquiry service.

You can also join online academic support sessions run by KnowHow to help you with everything from writing essays to referencing and receive online support from the Liaison Librarian for your subject by booking an online appointment.

The library have also created a guide to using the Library for students who are self-isolating.


Sport Liverpool

From Thursday, 5 November all University sports facilities will be closed and all face to face student club and campus sports programmes will stop until further notice.

All memberships will be automatically frozen, and no further action is required.

In the meantime, please continue to access our online resources including live and on-demand workouts, challenges, tips and competitions. Ideal if you need a little inspiration and support for your home workout.


Liverpool Guild of Students

The Guild will remain open during lockdown; however, services will be changed as follows:

  • Guild bars will be closed
  • The Guild shop will be closed; however the online shop will remain open and Click and Collect will still be available from Reception
  • The Courtyard will remain open seven days a week, to use as a safe study space. There is no need to book, and food will still be available to takeaway using the new click and collect service
  • Starbucks will continue to offer takeaway service only.

Student Support

The Alsop Building remains open for students to attend booked appointments for Wellbeing, Counselling and Mental Health Support. These services also offer online support.
