REMINDER: How to get the library resources you need

Although the libraries are partially closed, the University’s extensive online collections remain fully available and can easily be searched and accessed via the library website.

Accessing resources online

We have been working closely with publishers and colleagues across the sector to provide temporary access to a wide range of online resources, in addition to the existing 900,000 e-books in the catalogue.

We are also supporting requests for additional digital resources via our Get It For Me service if we do not have a digital copy of the item that you need.

Accessing physical resources

The Click & Collect service continues to run with collection from the Sydney Jones Library only, 11am – 4pm Monday – Friday, to provide essential access to copies that are not available online.

This service is available for essential access to items from both the Harold Cohen and the Sydney Jones libraries.

Books can be returned to the book return box in the Harold Cohen Library 7 days a week or to the Sydney Jones Library Monday – Friday.

Book and Copy Delivery

If you’re not in Liverpool and can’t visit the Library, use the Book and Copy Delivery Service and the Library will post books held in stock and copies of journal articles or book chapters directly to your home or work address.

Study Skills – KnowHow

Our popular KnowHow study skills programme is now being fully delivered online. The team have put together a series of resources that are full of useful advice on preparing for online assessments as well as our Top 10 Revision Tips.

Join our regular online webinars for advice on answering essay questions, Harvard referencing tips and help preparing for assessments.

As always, there are online tutorials available 24/7 through Canvas (KnowHow: Study for Success) or VITAL (KnowHow: Academic Success). These include topics such as, writing your dissertation, working with statistics, managing your time effectively and finding information for your assignments.

Subject support

Specialist subject support is available from the liaison librarian for your subject. Contact them for help finding and accessing the resources you need; advice on referencing and online support for your learning.

We also have reading lists available on the library website containing resources specific to your subject or module of study.
