Virtual events, activities and careers support available this week

Whether you are self-isolating, or just staying in more during the lockdown – we know it can be tricky to find things to do to keep busy!

Each week we will round up some of the best virtual events, activities and careers support you can access from home.

1. DIY Pizza Kit

Sign your flat up to have a DIY pizza kit delivered right to your door, all you need is a frying pan and a grill, we supply the rest!

2. Play the virtual arcade

Here’s an opportunity to start 2021 with a win. Play each game in the virtual arcade again and again to increase your high score. Every week, all players will be put in a draw to win one of six £75 or £50 prizes. When the Arcade closes on 15 February 2021, the highest overall scorers for each game will win £250, and the highest scorer across the Arcade will win £750.

3. Speed Mate-ing

We know that this year is very different to normal and making new friends from 2m can be difficult, especially if you’re also living alone! Through breakout rooms and conversation starters, you’ll have a chance to get to know the group and hopefully pick up some new pals along the way.

4. VG&M Culture Bites Series

Our Culture Bite music series combines music from artists connected to the University of Liverpool Music School with artwork from the VG&M collections. Each month we work with a new musician and release a short, bite sized audio-visual concert for you to enjoy at home

5. CoachBright remote volunteering opportunity

CoachBright are looking for University of Liverpool students to work virtually with school pupils from low-income backgrounds to help them improve their grades, confidence and access to university.

6. TeaTalk

Grab a hot drink, cosy spot and fire up your phone or laptop – it’s time to make some zoom BFFs from the comfort of your own living space.

7. Use your language skills to support children in schools

Gain skills and experience by supporting bilingual children in local schools. There are places available at free online workshops starting in February where you can find out more about the scheme.
