Boost your CV, win a £100 Amazon voucher, and help to save lives

Every year, the NHS needs to make sure there is enough blood available for patients, and this winter they have been facing extra challenges to provide hospitals with the blood, plasma, and platelets they need.

To help encourage people to sign up as blood donors, and to ensure existing donors continue donating, they are running a competition to look for ideas for a campaign to increase awareness about blood donation amongst the student community.

The winning entry will receive a cash prize, and also gain hands-on experience of running a promotional recruitment campaign with support from the NHS Blood and Transplant team (NHSBT).

They are looking for activities that will have a positive impact and promote blood donation, raise awareness and increase registrations, especially amongst their key target audiences that include male, O negative and Black heritage donors.

Proposals will also need to include SMART objectives, and should include how you intend to engage with student communities. You should detail which communication channels you would use, what support would be needed from NHSBT, and how you would allocate the £900 budget.

This is a great opportunity to boost your CV by planning and supporting the delivery of a high profile campaign that will help support the NHS and save lives.

Send your creative ideas for promoting blood donation, along with a covering letter outlining any relevant (paid or unpaid) experience you have in fundraising, community action or influencing to the NHSBT team at universityblood.challenge@nhsbt.nhs.uk by 10 March 2021.
