Virtual events, activities and careers support available this week

Whether you are self-isolating, or just staying in more during lockdown – we know it can be tricky to find things to do to keep busy!

Each week we’re rounding up some of the best virtual events, activities and careers support you can access from home. Don’t forget to download the ‘My Liverpool’ app to view all events and create your own personalised planner.

As it’s International Women’s Day on Monday, 8 March we have also rounded up some of the events and activities taking place that celebrate females in football, music, leadership and more.

Please remember that if you ever feel like you need support or advice, our Student Support team is here for you. You can also email the team on:

2. Workshop: Suicide Prevention

This workshop will be co-produced in partnership with the Mersey Care Suicide Prevention Team. It will be an opportunity to hear about solutions and paths to start to raise awareness for the devastating impact suicide has on families, and society. Some examples of discussion areas include:

• How to recognise when someone may be suffering

• How to encourage people to seek support

• How to guide them to the correct support

• Most importantly, how to offer hope

This will be a very sensitive topic for plenty of students, and we would implore anyone who thinks this is something they can learn from, to come along. As a matter of fact, we can all learn from this and anything we gain from it may come in to be crucial at any point in our lives.
