Your CV is often the first chance you get to make a good impression with a potential employer, so it’s important to take the time and effort to get it right.
Creating a good CV can be difficult and time consuming, and it’s often hard to know what information to include and what format to use. So many CVs get rejected as a result of simple mistakes, or because employers can’t find what they’re looking for.
In addition, when you apply for a job and submit your CV, many organisations now view them using a automated Applicant Tracking System (ATS), rather than a person. CV360 will mark your CV in exactly the same way the ATS will – boosting your chances of getting through the first stages of the recruitment process.
That’s why our Careers & Employability team have introduced CV360 – a new AI-powered CV checker available to all University of Liverpool students, that allows you to create a brand-new CV in matter of minutes, or upload your current CV to get instant feedback and suggestions to make it shine.
How it works:
If you don’t currently have a CV you can use the CV Builder tool to create one by adding your information, selecting a template, and then tailoring it for each role you apply for.
CV360 also allows you to upload your existing CV to get automated feedback that will significantly boost your chance of getting to interview – you’ll get suggestions on the design, structure, content, language, and your skills. The tool also checks time-to-read, average sentence length, and skills dominance so you can see what skills are highlighted on your CV, and the key employability skills you may want to mention.
And there’s more. You can also use the CV360 tools for advice, tips, employer insights, and ideas to help boost your knowledge and confidence.
How to access it?
All university of Liverpool Students have free unlimited access to CV360. Just click this link and it will take you to your University sign-in page. Enter your MWS student (the details you normally use to sign in to other University applications) and you are there.
Our Career Coaches are CV360 experts
CV360 is a very smart AI tool that uses expert knowledge and experience from thousands of CVs to update and refresh yours. But sometimes there’s no substitute for a human review before you press send on your job application, and our Career Coaches are available to have one last look.
Just visit the Virtual Career Studio and send them your CV360 report. They’ll provide you with personalised feedback to help you create the best CV that highlights your skills, experience, and is filled with sector-specific content to give you the best chance of getting that job!
Top Tip: After using CV360 make sure to upload your CV to your Handshake profile so that employers can reach out to you with relevant career events and job opportunities.
