Get involved: New on-campus and virtual events programme launches today

The University has launched a new programme of events and activities for all students, whether studying online or in-person, to enjoy this term.

The Summer Term Events Programme, will initially run from 12 April – 7 May before culminating with Wellbeing Week from 10 – 14 May.

If you are already on campus, or in Liverpool, we have a selection of free in-person events for you to take part in safely on campus alongside your teaching sessions. If you’re studying from home, don’t worry, as you can take part in many of the activities online.

Programme details

The programme includes events and activities from across the University, from skills sessions, public lectures and careers workshops to guided walks, Guild ‘give it a go’ sessions and creative ‘crafternoons’.

Programme highlights this week include; a Green Guild session ‘Farm Urban’s Feeding the Future Virtual Tour’, a talk ‘Thomas Glave: A reminder letter to England’ by the New and International Writing Centre, and a bespoke session for masters students ‘Marketing your master’s to employers’.

You can view the full programme on the Summer Term Events Programme webpages, or by downloading the My Liverpool app, available on the App Store and Google Play.

Please note: we are continuing to add to the programme, so please keep checking back for the latest events.

We understand that face-to-face interaction is important and greatly benefits your experience with us – that’s why, we have created this programme of activity for you to get involved in, which includes some COVID-safe in-person events.

Take this time to focus on your wellbeing while safely connecting with your peers, with our community and with campus.

Safety measures

All in-person events will operate with limited capacities and have been risk assessed as COVID-safe, however it is equally important that all attendees adhere to current public health guidelines to keep everyone safe, including getting regular tests.

We now require all students and staff who are on campus for three or more days in any week (Monday to Sunday) to access two ‘no symptoms’ lateral flow tests (approximately every three days). For those who attend campus for one or two days in any week (Monday to Sunday) they must access at least one ‘no symptoms’ lateral flow tests every seven days, aiming for two where circumstances allow.

This can be done using the University’s asymptomatic testing service in the Sports Centre (details can be found here) or one of the SMART testing facilities in the city (details here).

Please also do continue to keep in mind that the three key steps we can take as individuals – wearing a face covering, regularly washing our hands, and maintaining a safe distance from anyone from another household – make an enormous difference.
