The Victoria Gallery & Museum (VG&M) reopens on Tuesday, 18 May exclusively to University of Liverpool staff and students for the first time since March 2020.
The building closed at the beginning of the first lockdown in March 2020. The University will welcome staff and students to enjoy exclusive access before the building reopens to the public again next month.
About your visit
The Victoria Gallery & Museum are pleased to announce that during lockdown, they have installed a range of new exhibitions in their art galleries, including ‘Nature v Humans’, ‘The Art of Ruin’, and ‘A New Beauty – Romanticism in Art 1880 – 1920’. Take a look at the current exhibitions online.
Before you visit, you must book a free timed entry slot in advance to maintain social distancing, safely manage the numbers through our doors and ensure that everyone has an enjoyable time.
Each ticket allows up to 6 people in a household or support bubble to look around the galleries on the first floor for one hour.
Health & Safety
Please arrive at the VG&M entrance doors 5 minutes before your visit is due to start so that you can check in at our Welcome Desk and go through safety procedures. You will be required to follow social distancing and one-way systems when in the building and wear a face covering at all times, unless exempt.
Waterhouse café and Tate Hall Museum
Although the café is closed, visitors can bring their own lunch or snack and take a break during their visit in the beautiful ground floor seating area.
At present the Tate Hall Museum will be closed, however there is exhibition information available on the VG&M website with digital tours and content for you to enjoy at home.
#MyVGM Instagram competition
To celebrate the reopening of the Victoria Gallery & Museum, there is an Instagram photo competition for visitors to enter.
To enter, take as many photos as you like during your visit to the VG&M and share them on Instagram using the hashtag #MyVGM and tag @victoriagallery.
The competition will run from 18th May – 30th June and the winner will be chosen by a public vote between the two best entries on the VG&M’s Instagram page.
The winner will receive a goodie bag prize of Sophie Green x VG&M merchandise, a VG&M print and a £20 Love2Shop voucher. View competition Terms & Conditions.
Book your visit now. The VG&M looks forward to seeing you soon.
