The University, in collaboration with Liverpool John Moores University and Hope University have jointly funded a Community Skip Programme to support students moving out of their term-time addresses.
The Programme, which will be delivered in partnership with Liverpool City Council and Liverpool Street Scene Ltd, enables students to discard unwanted items (that cannot be recycled) safely and responsibly before vacating their residences for the summer period.
Currently, skips will be available at the following locations:
Smithdown/Dales/Greenbank – Wednesday, 30 June from 8.00am
Kensington Fields – Thursday, 1 July from 08.00am
The Green Guild has partnered with the British Heart Foundation to Leave Liverpool Tidy. The aim of this project is to reduce the amount of reusable items that go into landfill and redistribute them to those who need them and charities.
Find out more about the campaign and how to donate items on the Guild website.
Finally, from bins and bulky item collections to recycling services, Liverpool City Council have a range of options available to dispose of unwanted items and rubbish. This also includes Bulky Bob’s, a free bulky item collection service.
Many areas across the city currently use communal bins, so it’s really important to make sure you’re using the bins correctly to minimise disruption to other residents.
Liverpool Student Homes have also produced this useful guide.
