Flu vaccine

The flu vaccination is more important than ever this year and Public Health England are urging all those who are eligible to receive the free flu vaccine this winter.

The flu vaccine is given to people who:

  • are pregnant
  • are in long-stay residential care

  • frontline health or social care workers.

The flu vaccine is available at GP surgeries and pharmacies. The vaccine may also be offered in some hospital settings (such as through your midwife if you are pregnant).

Covid-19 vaccinations

Any adult in the UK can now access COVID-19 vaccination directly through the NHS. This includes all our international students.

Students can book their appointment at one of the vaccination centres, a community pharmacy or at some select GP sites by visiting the National Booking Service website or by phoning the NHS on 119. There are also vaccination drop-in sessions available in the city. There is no need to book for these sessions and details can be found on the CCG website.

It is recommended that you have two doses of the Covid-19 vaccinations, with your second dose between 8 and 9 weeks after receiving your first dose.

You can find more information about Covid-19 vaccinations on our campus safety webpages.
