Your Feel Good February starts today!

The University’s Feel Good February programme of free events and activities starts today running until 28 February.

There are over 200 events and activities taking place, all are aligned to the 6 ways to wellbeing: Connect, Be active, Take Notice, Keep Learning, Give, Be Sustainable.

Throughout the month, try to engage wherever you can by booking onto events and dropping-in to activities on campus. We’re also encouraging all students and staff to aim to ‘Do One Thing’ by setting a realistic, achievable goal for February. This should be something that will help you feel good without piling on pressure, it could be to attend one event from the programme, to pick one of the 6 ways to wellbeing to focus on, or to set your own goal e.g. go for a walk one lunchtime each week.

Programme of events

You can find out more and view events on the Wellbeing Hub. We also recommend you download the free My Liverpool App for quick and easy access to the programme anytime, anywhere.

Event highlights this week include:

Tuesday, 1 February:

Wednesday, 2 February:

  • Sport Liverpool Walk for Health – Join us at 1pm outside the Sports & Fitness Centre where the fitness team will be waiting to meet you for your 30-minute walk! There are many benefits including increasing your heart health, reducing stress and anxiety, and building stamina.
  • Fiction Book swap – Pop into the Harold Cohen or the Sydney Jones Library every Wednesday in February between 2 and 4pm to swap some of the fiction books you’ve already read and find a new read from others’ donations!

Thursday, 3 February:

  • Time to Talk Day café – Time to Talk Day gives friends and communities the chance to come together to talk, listen and change lives. Our Peer Mentors will be hosting a Time to Talk café on University Square between 10am -3pm – come along to enjoy a cuppa and a chat with friends, and get the conversation started! There will be free hot chocolate and cake served first-come-first-served.
  • Dodgeball turn up and play – Head to the Sports Centre at 4pm to try a game of Dodgeball. This session is free, for all levels and a great way to join a team sport to meet new people!

Friday, 4 February:

  • Crafternoon Knit and Natter – Come to this Crafternoon session at the Guild to start a new project or bring one along you’re working on; we’re getting down to the ‘knitty-gritty’ and giving all of our ‘purls’ of wisdom at this knit and natter session. All resources are provided and beginners are more than welcome.

Dr Paul Redmond, Director of Student Experience and Enhancement said: “I’m really looking forward to Feel Good February – there’s a fantastic range of events and activities on offer across the University – both physical and online – and the programme offers something for everyone, students and staff.

Too much of our lives are now spent starting at screens and as a result we’re all suffering from CPAS (Continuous Partial Attention Syndrome). ‘Taking Notice’ is one of our 6 Ways to Wellbeing, and for me, the hardest of the six to put in practice. So, if I DO ONE THING as part of Feel Good February, it’s to make time every day to get out of the office and walk the campus: Spring will be with us soon, the gardens will be bursting with life, and best of all, there’ll be plenty of staff and students to say hello to.”
