Eating disorders have a huge impact on people from all walks of society, but remain one of the most misunderstood mental health conditions.

To help improve knowledge and raise awareness, the University’s Improving Student Mental Health through Partnerships Project Team are hosting a workshop on Wednesday 9 February that will explore living with, and understanding eating disorders.

Aimed at both those with lived experiences of the conditions covered, and at those who wish to gain more of an understanding and insight, this workshop will cover;

  • what it means to have an eating disorder
  • the different types of eating disorders
  • why people develop eating disorders
  • bust the myths and misconceptions around eating disorders
  • treatment of eating disorders
  • when and how to seek help
