Feel Good February: ‘Do One Thing’ this month

The University’s Feel Good February programme of free events and activities runs until 28 February. If you haven’t yet taken a look at the programme, there are over 200 events and activities taking place – find out more on the Wellbeing Hub or download the free My Liverpool App.

‘Do One Thing’

This month, set yourself a mini-challenge and aim to ‘Do One Thing’ by setting a realistic, achievable goal. This should be something that will help you feel good without piling on any added pressure, it could be to attend one event from the programme, to pick one of the 6 ways to wellbeing to focus on, or to set your own goal, for example, to meditate once a week.

Here are some examples of what members of #TeamLivUni are ‘doing’ this month:

Dr Paul Redmond, Director of Student Experience and Enhancement: “‘Taking Notice’ is the one of the 6 Ways to Wellbeing, and, for me, it is the hardest of the six to put in practice. So, if I ‘Do One Thing’ this month, it’s to make time every day to get out of the office and walk the campus: Spring will be with us soon, the gardens will be bursting with life, and best of all, there’ll be plenty of staff and students to say hello to.”

Pamela McGee: “For me, my goals this month are to turn my phone off in the evening and also, if I can, do a litter pick with my kids.”

Kate Murray: “Connecting with friends and family will be really important for me this month.”

Lib Golding: “Spending more time outdoors as it gradually starts to get lighter in the evenings and start a new playlist.”

Alison Poutney: “This month I will be taking the time to do some rollerskating. I love rollerskating, as it requires balance and concentration – it is so much fun, but also allows me to forget everything else and live in the moment!”
