New podcasting and presenting programme for students – apply now

Student podcast

Students are invited to take part in a new Podcasting and Presenting programme from the Careers & Employability team, delivered in partnership with Liverpool Live Radio.

Over the past 10 years, podcasting has become incredibly popular. 6.5 million adults in the UK listen to podcasts weekly and the number is growing. Starting a podcast sounds like a complicated venture, but it requires minimal up-front investment and is surprisingly easy to implement.

We have teamed up with Liverpool Live Radio to bring to you a five-week podcasting and presenting programme that will take you on a journey to develop the following areas:

  •          Market Research
  •          How to Interview
  •          Recording Techniques
  •          Networking and Sales
  •          Pitching it to a Radio Station

You will be placed within a group of four students for this programme, and work as a team to develop your podcast from idea to final product and pitch.

The winning group will receive a podcasting kit each to further develop their ideas as well as going into a Liverpool Live Radio Show live on air with Roy Basnett.

All participants will also have the opportunity to submit their podcast to the new upcoming university-wide podcast series.

The sessions are scheduled to take place on a Wednesday afternoon for five weeks from 27 April – 25 May.
