We are pleased to invite students to take part in a new scheme that offers the opportunity to gain exclusive paid work experience with local businesses.
Liverpool Interns will connect students with small and medium-sized companies in the Liverpool City Region and beyond, offering internships that enable you to enhance your employability whilst enabling the organisations to develop and grow their business.
Liverpool Interns is delivered by the University’s Careers and Employability team, and funded by partners including Santander Universities and the Higher Education Innovation Fund. It offers students a bursary of up to £1,000 for completing a flexible 80-hour internship that can be undertaken alongside your studies.
The programme is also HEAR-accredited, so that your engagement with the programme provides you with a formal record of achievement to demonstrate to employers in the future.
Who can apply?
Liverpool Interns is currently open to University of Liverpool students in their second, penultimate, and final year of study undergraduate study, and those on a postgraduate taught (Master’s) programme.
How long are the internships?
All internships are for up to a total of 80 hours work and can be completed in two ways:
- Part-time around your current course commitments – we recommend a commitment of between 7-10 hours per week.
- Up to full-time outside of university term-time (over the Easter break, for example).
Are the internships paid?
Yes. You will be paid a rate of £12.50 per hour for up to a total of 80 hours of work, with a maximum payment of £1,000.
When do the internships start?
Internships will be available throughout Spring and Summer 2025. Start dates are flexible and will vary according to the needs of individual companies and successful candidates.
Accessible to all
We are committed to ensuring that our recruitment processes are accessible to everyone. If you require any adjustments or accommodations at any stage, please let us know and we will work with you to meet your needs.
