How we can help

Mental Health and Wellbeing

Wellbeing advice, counselling, mental health advisory services, workshops, and events. You can find more details on the Mental Wellbeing pages. Here, you can also find access to mental health support from Health Assured a free confidential phone line open 24/7, and our self-help guides.

Disability Support

Guidance on study support, reasonable adjustments, and funding options. Upload your supporting documentation to the Student Services HUB. Disability Advice and Guidance offers a study skills drop-in for neurodiverse students, diagnosed or not, to develop academic strategies. Join us every Wednesday (term-time) 2–4:30 pm, in the Student Life Building.

Money Advice & Guidance

Manage your finances with confidential Money Advisor appointments, drop-in peer-to-peer support from trained Money Coaches, and tips on budgeting, utilities and bills, food and travel plus information on the University Hardship Fund.

Visa & Immigration Support

For any queries about visas and immigration or settling into life in the UK contact International Advice and Guidance or attend their drop-ins daily in the Student Life Building 1.30-3.30pm Monday to Friday.

Report + Support

Anonymously report bullying, harassment, discrimination, or misconduct through our Report + Support tool.

Liverpool Guild of Students

The Guild offers free and confidential advice to all students. They are independent from the University and provide non-judgmental support on academic, housing, and wellbeing matters. If they can’t assist you, they’ll direct you to the right people who can.

In a crisis now? Immediate mental health support

In an emergency, or if you don’t feel that you can keep yourself safe, go to accident and emergency (A&E), or call 999 for an ambulance. Or you can contact your local NHS mental health crisis line. For Liverpool, call 0800 145 6570. Please see here for information on where you can get urgent support for your mental health.

Many students find it helpful to call a listening service:
Samaritans call 116123 (24 hours, 365 days a year)
Papyrus call Hopeline UK 0800 068 4141 (9am-midnight, every day)
We also strongly recommend you see your GP as soon as possible.

If you have thoughts about harming yourself or ending your life but do not feel you are at immediate risk, Student Services offers a range of support that includes wellbeing advisors, counsellors, and the Mental Health Advisory Service.

Email the team at advice@liverpool.ac.uk, or call 0151 795 1000 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
