Stay safe on campus with the SafeZone app

SafeZone is a free safety and wellbeing app that allows you to contact Campus Support Services for assistance 24 hours a day, seven days a week when you’re on campus. It can be downloaded to your smartphone via the Google Play Store or Apple’s App Store. Simply type SafeZone into the search facility.

The app is very intuitive and easy to use. The home screen features a red Emergency button for immediate assistance; a green First Aid button for when medical attention is required; a blue Control Room button for non-urgent assistance or advice; and a yellow Wellbeing Assistance button for a range of online health and wellbeing resources.

Smaller Check-in and Check-out buttons for anyone working alone late into the evening are located towards the top of the home screen.

Live view of the 699 bus service and much more

Amongst other things, the Wellbeing Assistance function gives you access to live viewing of the 699 bus route to avoid those long waits at the bus stop for students travelling to and from Greenbank and those who live out in private rented accommodation along the bus route.

It also includes links to the University’s Student Wellbeing Hub; to the Health Assured Helpline, a 24/7 mental health student support service; Report & Support – for reporting bullying, harassment, sexual misconduct, hate crime, assault or discrimination; and a SHOUT text function for access to a confidential, 24/7 support service run by trained volunteers.

Please consider installing SafeZone on your smartphone to support your wellbeing and to make sure you stay safe on campus.
