Earlier this year 10 University of Liverpool students won an amazing £1,000 from Santander Universities, and we’re excited to announce the return of the Brighter Futures Grants programme offering another chance to win!
We and our long-term partner Santander are committed to empowering all students to achieve their goals and we know that key to this is ensuring you can focus on what truly matters – your studies.
We’re giving away £1,000 to 10 students again through our Brighter Futures grants. The funds can be spent on rent, bills, study resources or anything else that will help create an environment where you can focus.
Everything you need to know:
- The prize: 10 awards of £1,000 up for grabs just for Liverpool students!
- No strings attached: You can spend the funds on things that will help you to focus on your studies, like rent, bills, groceries, textbooks and tech.
- Open opportunity: The competition is open to all undergraduate and postgraduate students. You don’t even need to bank with Santander to get involved.
- Closing date: You must apply by 15 May 2025.

- If you haven’t already, register for Santander Open Academy – a free online learning platform
- Follow the verification link in your confirmation email
- Log in and choose ‘Get Started’ to submit your entry to the Brighter Futures competition. Make sure from the menu you select ‘University of Liverpool’
Whether you win or not, you’ll still have access to the Santander Open Academy platform and to free, on-demand learning content that can help support you in your studies – plus further exclusive competitions and opportunities.
