Module Registration: make your choices from Wednesday 30 April

If you’re a continuing undergraduate student, Module Registration opens at 10am on Wednesday, 30 April 2025.

Here’s an overview of everything you’ll need to know about making your module choices.

Mandatory and optional modules

You’ll be automatically pre-registered for required and mandatory modules for your programme, details of which you’ll be able to view on the Module Registration page once the registration period opens.

As a continuing undergraduate student, you’ll also need to register your optional module (or subject) choices for the upcoming 2025/26 academic year between 10am on Wednesday, 30 April and 11.59pm on Wednesday, 7 May 2025. The module registration system will allow you to choose a certain number of optional credits based on your programme of study.

If you are a Medicine, Veterinary, Dentistry or Health Sciences undergraduate student, you are not required to select modules online as part of this process.

Where do I complete Module Registration?

Module registration takes place online via the Module Registration page in My Liverpool. You do not need to be on campus.

To access the Module Registration page once the registration period is open:

  1. Go directly to the Module Registration page.
  2. Login using your MWS username and password.

It is important you read through the Academic Advice provided at the top of the module registration page once you have logged in. This is information provided by your department and is specific to your programme.

Important:  The system is expected to be busy during the first few hours of the module registration period. If you are asked to wait while registering for your modules, please do not click back or log out until the system confirms completion of your request.

Removal of some module caps

In response to student feedback and following consultation with your Guild Officers, more than 80% of modules that previously had number caps have now had those caps removed. We hope this will reduce anxiety around the module registration process, provide more time for you to consider your choices and allow you to secure your preferred options.

There are a small number of modules that still require a number cap. If this applies in your subject area, your school will make this clear to you in advance of module registration day, so you have plenty of time to consider both your preferred options, as well as your potential reserve choices.

If your preferred module(s) are full when you come to register your choices, this will be clearly indicated on the webpage. In this instance, it is important that you select alternative modules and continue to register for 120 credits.

You will be able to add any full modules to your reserve list and rank your module selections – both secured and reserve – in order of preference. This means that your School may be able to give you a place on modules on your reserve list if spaces become available after Module Registration has closed.

Module preferences

If a capped module is already full when you are making your choices, you’ll need to choose an alternative. As described above, you’ll be able to add full modules to your reserve list.
