David Olusoga – BA (Hons) History 1994; Hon LittD 2017
Historian, broadcaster and author, David continues to explore untold stories of British history. He recently appeared in The Celebrity Traitors, bringing his expert storytelling to a new audience.
Dr Jasmin Paris MBE – BVSc 2008
Jasmin is a veterinarian, senior lecturer and endurance athlete who became the first woman to complete the gruelling Barkley Marathons, cementing her status as one of the world’s leading ultra-runners.
Jessica Gagen – BEng (Hons) Aerospace Engineering 2023

Professor Har Gobind Khorana – PhD 1948, Hon DSci 1971
Nobel Prize-winning biochemist, Professor Khorana’s ground-breaking research in genetics changed the course of molecular biology.
Emma Jane Unsworth – BA (Hons) English 2000
A celebrated novelist and screenwriter Emma Jane has received critical acclaim for her work and continues to contribute to literary magazines and cultural discussions. She reflected on her time at the University and her friendships in the 2025-26 Alumni Magazine.
Yemurai Rabvukwa – BSc (Hons) Chemistry 2020
Yemurai is a Senior Cybersecurity Associate and creator of STEM Babe, a platform inspiring over 76,000 followers to pursue tech careers. She won a University of Liverpool Alumni Award in 2025 for her outstanding achievements within our global alumni community.
Dr Sid Watkins – BSc (Hons) 1949; MBChB 1952; MD 1956; Hon DSc 2004
Dr Sid Watkins was a world-class neurosurgeon who changed Formula One forever. He brought life-saving changes to the track, including rapid response protocols and on-site care at the circuits. He saved countless lives and created a safer future for the sport.
Chloe Burrows – BA (Hons) Marketing 2018
Chloe is a successful radio presenter, podcast host and TV personality who recently took part in Soccer Aid, helping raise funds for children around the world.
Dr Matt Taylor MPhys 1997; Hon DSc 2019
European Space Agency scientist, Dr Taylor was the project scientist on the Rosetta mission, the first mission to make landfall on a comet.
Megan McCubbin – BSc (Hons) Zoology 2018
Zoologist and TV presenter, Megan has appeared on Springwatch and Animal Park.
