We are looking forward to highlighting and celebrating the importance of postdocs this September, as part of National Postdoc Appreciation Week (NPAW).
Running from 21-25 September 2026, NPAW is a UK-wide initiative that honours the invaluable contributions that postdoctoral researchers make to research excellence, impact, community and culture.
To mark the week The Academy, together with the Research Staff Association (UoL RSA), are hosting a variety of events for postdocs.

Save the date! Research Staff Conference 2026: Becoming agile leaders of tomorrow
Join us on Thursday, 26 November for the annual Research Staff Conference, with talks, panel discussions, workshops and more all around the conference theme of ‘Becoming agile leaders of tomorrow’. The programme will explore how researchers can adapt to change, build resilience and develop leadership skills at all career stages—whether leading projects, collaborating across sectors, or shaping their own career trajectories.
