University strengthens partnership with Easwari Engineering College, Chennai

The University of Liverpool and Easwari Engineering College (EEC), Chennai, have formally exchanged of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Postgraduate Progression Agreement.

The partnership establishes a framework for enhanced academic cooperation between the two institutions, including student progression opportunities and the development of future collaborative initiatives.

The MoU, signed at EEC on 17 July 2026, reflects a shared commitment to advancing international education, fostering global engagement, and creating new opportunities for students and staff.

As part of the agreement, eligible EEC students will have access to a dedicated progression route to a wide range of postgraduate taught programmes at the University of Liverpool across disciplines including Engineering, Computer Science, Physical Sciences, Health, Environmental Sciences, and Management.

The collaboration brings together two institutions with strong academic reputations. The University of Liverpool is a member of the Russell Group and a globally recognised research-intensive university, while Easwari Engineering College, part of the SRM Group of Institutions, is one of Chennai’s leading autonomous engineering colleges with a strong record of academic excellence and industry engagement.

Professor Shakila Thangaratinam, Dean of the Institute of Life Course and Medical Sciences and University Strategic Advisor for Global Engagement and Partnerships said: “We welcome the agreement as an important step in expanding educational pathways for students and strengthening academic links between the United Kingdom and India. The partnership is expected to support student mobility, international learning experiences, and future collaborative activities in areas of mutual interest.”
