Businessman and philanthropist Steve Morgan CBE will be the guest speaker at this year’s Sir Peter Rigby Centre for Enterprise Annual Lecture.

Interviewed by ITV correspondent Ann O’Connor, Steve will reflect on his journey from founding Redrow Homes at the age of 21 to leading its growth into one of the UK’s largest and most successful housebuilding companies.

The discussion will also explore his work beyond business. In 2001, Steve established the Steve Morgan Foundation, which has invested more than £500 million in charitable causes and supported more than 10 million people.

The event will offer insights into Steve’s entrepreneurial career, the challenges and opportunities he has encountered along the way, and how business success can be used to create lasting economic and social impact.

Open to staff, students and members of the public, the lecture will be of particular interest to anyone interested in entrepreneurship, leadership, innovation and making a positive difference through their work.

Established in 2025, the Sir Peter Rigby Centre for Enterprise supports student enterprise, entrepreneurship and start-up development across the University. The Centre provides students, graduates and staff with expert guidance to develop business ideas, build entrepreneurial skills, access funding opportunities and benefit from dedicated enterprise support.

A regional asset, the Centre also promotes enterprise education and entrepreneurial skills development across the wider University community and the Liverpool City Region.

The Sir Peter Rigby Centre for Enterprise Annual Lecture will take place on Tuesday 13 October 2026, from 2.30pm to 3.45pm, in the Leggate Theatre at the Victoria Gallery & Museum.
