Three Faculty Manager roles have been appointed to support the new University academic structure.

The managers are Steve Smith and Jo Clague, who stared their new roles in November and Karen Banks who joins the University in January from Manchester Metropolitan University.

Steve Smith, Faculty Manager for Science and Engineering, graduated from the University of Cambridge. He worked for many years for Unilever in a variety of roles in Port Sunlight, Wirral, the Head Office in London and in the factory in Mannheim, Germany.

From 2002 to 2005, Steve worked for UMIST/University of Manchester as the Business Manager for the Manchester Science Enterprise Centre. He joined this University in September 2005 as the Faculty Secretary of the ‘old’ Faculty of Medicine and briefly the new Faculty of Health and Life Sciences.

Jo Clague

Jo Clague, Faculty Manager for Health and Life Sciences, is an alumna of the University of Liverpool. She trained with Deloitte, specialising in audit and qualified as a Chartered Accountant.

She came to work at the University of Liverpool in 2002 in Planning and Development where she stayed for five years supporting the Faculties of Medicine and Veterinary Science before moving to the role of Business Manager in the Dental School.

For the past 12 months she has been working as a Business and Financial Analyst in Research and Business Services with a focus on the Strategic Plan, research planning and financial forecasting, enhanced Professional Services integration and the IRIS research management project.
