Professor Chris Frid, Head of the School of Environmental Sciences, has been appointed to the European Bio-economy Expert Group.
The group is convened by the European Commission to provide experts to assess to the social, economic and environmental impacts of a European Bio-economy, and will be releasing a strategy in November which looks at food security, biofuels and biomaterials for a more sustainable future.
Professor Frid is one of 12 experts who will advise on the strategy.
