The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) team in Partnerships and Innovations has obtained membership as a high-quality training provider to The National Skills Academy for Nuclear network.
The Academy is an employer-led organisation established to ensure that the UK nuclear industry and its supply chain has the skilled, competent and safe workforce it needs to deal with the current and future nuclear programme.
Chris McLinden, Head of CPD, said: “The team has been working closely with colleagues in Faculty of Science and Engineering to secure the University as a Quality Approved Supplier on the Skills Academy’s Provider Network and I am delighted at the opportunities that this strategic partnership now offers.
“We will be working with colleagues in other academic departments to develop suitable qualifications and training courses required to meet the needs of this sector of industry.”
