Third year student Anthony Manning-Stanley has been awarded a prestigious prize from the Society and College of Radiographers.
Anthony, who is studying for a BSc Honours degree in Diagnostic Radiography, was selected for the Forder Memorial Prize after presenting his work, ‘Radiation dose optimisation in pelvic radiography using DR: a phantom study’ at the annual UK Radiological Conference (UKRC).
An International Society of Radiographers & Radiological Technologists grant has been applied for by the School of Health Sciences to expand Anthony’s work into a larger clinical study based at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, pending ethical approval, and a professional paper is currently being prepared for publication in Radiography, a peer-reviewed journal.
Also, such is the reputation of the department, second year Medical Imaging and Radiotherapy student, Jenny Rankin, was also selected to present her work at the UKRC, as was Robert Health, who presented his work at the conference last year.
