Stephen Hicks, a student in the School of Environmental Sciences, has been shortlisted for a Science, Engineering and Technology Student of the Year (SET) award.
The SET Awards are Europe’s most important awards for science and engineering undergraduates.
Andreas Rietbrock, Professor of Seismology, said: “This is a very impressive achievement from one of our students doing his final-year project in the Seismology and Geodynamic group.”
Stephen now goes onto the final which will be announced at the end of September.
