Staff from the Liverpool Cancer Research UK Centre have made a short film to raise awareness of their life-saving work.

Every year around 4,000 people in Liverpool are told they have cancer. However, thanks to research, survival rates have doubled in the last 40 years. Liverpool Cancer Research UK Centre has a team of around 200 doctors, scientists, researchers and nurses whose groundbreaking research is helping save lives in Merseyside and Cheshire and beyond.

With the support of local band the Wombats, they put together the film, Liverpool Dances for Cancer Research, as a thank you for the support they receive and as an introduction to what they do.

Emma Squibb, Liverpool CRUK Centre LEAD Manager, said: “2012 is Merseyside and Cheshire’s Year of Action on Cancer. If you like our film, take action – support our lifesaving work by forwarding the link to your contacts and by making a donation.
